Title of Record

I don't know how much more of Dickie V's annoying commentary I can take this season. I might really start playing the Dick Vitale drinking game. What a whore.

R.I.P. - SDSU (2007 NCAA Tournament)
With loses to Wyoming and Utah, it doesn't matter if they beat BYU, UNLV and Air Force. The only way they have a SNOWBALL'S chance for the Madness is IF they win the MWC tourney. NIT, here we come.

I know, it hurts...

In fact...

Everybody hurts... Sometimes, everybody cries.

Ok, I think Air Force is taking that loss to BYU a little too hard.

No surprises - The Vols beat Florida. I think they are still reeling from Vandy and LSU. Pitt beats West Virginia. Where's Kevin Pittsnogle when you need him?

And this score brought to you by that woodshed out back - Winthrop 72, Charleston Southern 42

But can the Eagles imitate John Ashcroft and soar come March 15th?

Erin Andrews, the love of many college basketball fans, and a Dazzler!

And now, your moment of Zen...

Nice...

Pat Summitt -
Head Coach, Tennessee Volunteers Women's Basketball
Sex symbol

We now pay homage to Ms. Summitt's stunning beauty by invoking a little Jermaine Stewart...

We can dance and party!

MILF Hunter?!?!?!

Pat Summitt to wear a cheerleader outfit tonight with Florida playing the Vols?

Must. Get. Picture. Maybe three.

Tuesday

Syracuse beats Georgetown?!?! Step back!

It doesn't hurt the Hoyas and it REALLY helps Syracuse.

That's ok... We still got our number 10 ranking. I think.

We don't CARE about your #10 ranking, we're getting into the dance!!!!!!!

Why do they continue to tease me by having SDSU as a bubble but OUT? Cruel, man....

Kansas beats Sooners by two points...

Two is the loneliest number...

We are staring to wind down here and are beginning to rev up for the conference tournaments. To be honest I don't really pay attention to the individual conference tourneys that much. So there might be days of no posting. Maybe.

And finally a blast from the past...

Florida fans weep over their 2006 NCAA tournament win.

Monday time

First, the knowledge -

Multi-Bid Conference Breakdown
ACC (7): North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, Maryland, Boston College, Georgia Tech
Big East (6): Georgetown, Pitt, Louisville, Marquette, Villanova, Notre Dame
Pac-10 (6): UCLA, Washington State, Southern Cal, Oregon, Arizona, Stanford
Big Ten (6): Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue
SEC (4): Florida, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Kentucky
Big XII (4): Texas A&M, Kansas, Texas, Texas Tech
Missouri Valley (3): Southern Illinois, Creighton, Missouri State
Mountain West (3): UNLV, Air Force, BYU
Colonial (3): VCU, Old Dominion, Drexel

The above was taken from The Bracket Board.com and it closely agrees with my thinking. Also remember that the Selection Show is at 3 pm PST on CBS. March 11th if you live under a rock.

Also I will do my ritual leave work early (noon) on Thursday, March 15th and head down the street to Broadway Sports Bar at the Biltmore Hotel here downtown LA. And get drunk while watching the best sporting event ever.

Oh, no joke about LSU beating Florida. That was fun to watch.

Do you think your team really needs you after this? (from CSTV.com)

Oh, also from the boys at CSTV.com, this video about should Big Baby stay. Watch it. And count how many women offer SEX to keep him!

It is no fun right now in Kentucky for the Wildcats. But I don't think the Tubbster should be fired.

I felt bad for Wisconsin's Butch when he got hurt in the first half. I hope he recovers quickly.

You just don't know...

Carnage

Did I just hear Billy Packer say:
"(Marcus) Landry's body looks like he's slow, but he's quick off his feet. Extremely powerful upper legs and... and he's got that buttocks that can keep people out of the way."

???????!?!

You gotta have the big Black!

As you can see, I'm watching Wisconsin vs. Ohio State.

Around the NCAA -

LSU BEATS Florida!
TCU BEATS Air Force!
SDSU BEATS BYU!

Can you SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLL what the selection committee is cooking!!!

Probably the only time I'll like AC/DC.

Call me Al!

I saw this on ESPN.com and had to share.

Funniest headline ever: Memphis fries Rice.

And just like a piece of Sizzlean, you'll fit inside our stomachs with the eggs and grits between.

The most surprising thing of last night was Oregon beating Washington State. I was at a hockey game (don't ask) when this happened and I commented that the Ducks were playing desperately.

Second most surprising was Butler getting beat by the Ramblers. Butler is starting to look a little shaky. But when I say that, it does not mean they are not getting into the Madness, it's how they'll perform...

Wow, did I just do some analysis? No? Ok.

Someone get this guy a trombone, STAT!

Finally, blogger finds his soon to be ex-wife.

Thursday, February 22, 2007

You're fired!

Oi vey...

New Mexico's McKay teminated.

Cultural funny

From CSTV.com Hoops Odyssey:

Louisville Squad Leader: You know, we need a Black girl and an Asian girl in our group.

Misc. White Cheerleader: Sounds great! How many should we recruit?

Squad Leader: Just one each. Like Noah minus the males. Then we can be multicultural.

Misc. White Cheerleader: Rock on!

First in the queue -

What.. The.. Fuck happened to OSU?!?!?

Take anything you want.

Illinois pretty much sealed the deal last night.

Gooooooooooooooooood morning Illinois!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NCAA Hoops Today (btw one of my fav blogs) says that Oregon will beat Washington State. Ha! March to Madness says the Cougars will (a la Tony Montana) Bury those cockroaches!

Wednesday, February 21, 2007

...

17 more days to Selection Sunday.

21 more days to the opening rounds.

Must show this commercial again.

Power Play

First...

Feel the POWER of MSU's win over Wisconsin!

Izzo is fighting back!

Penn State AT Ohio State tonight. Yes, I intentionally capitalized the "at". Vegas has this at -19.5 Buckeyes. I'd lay the big number.

Two Buckeyes celebrate... Or hook up. Whatever happens in...

Only Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma State seems exciting tonight.

And now, your moment of Zen (and one of my fav singers)...

Tuesday, February 20, 2007

Ka-Pow!

"You also have to wonder where San Diego State would be in the polls if they had not folded at Wyoming."
- AOL's NCAA Basketball Fanhouse

YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Ok... I'm calm. I'm fine.

And this brought to you by the boys at CSTV.com. A study in Black and White.

Georgia Southern University

UT Chattanooga

Yes, I'm silly.

Wow, I can't believe Michigan State just won against Wisconsin. Well, I can believe it. I just wasn't expecting it because Wisconsin has been so dominant as of late. Izzo and company was really desperate for that win. At least the Badgers still have their most important ranking (NSFW).

The Zags really really REALLY need to play this before introducing their players at the home games...

Bulldogs West-SIDE!

That's why it really hurts...

...because you do it to YOURSELF!

My Aztecs lost to Wyoming 80 to 71. We are now officially off bubble watch and most likely NIT bound. And just a few days ago I was celebrating.

Why do I bother.

In the words of one of the many SDSU fans posting on CBS Sportsline.com: "This is a joke"

Ok... In other news...

LSU vs. Kentucky tonight. Talk about desperate people. This will be the battle of "We can't lose AGAIN!!!!"

Badgers vs. Spartans tonight. Means a whole hell of a lot for Michigan State, while Wisconsin will use this game to practice Chris Rock's new material.

I'll never tellllll....

Live from Rosemead

I left me laptop power cord at work so I'm gonna have to do quick hits and do a more formal post on Tuesday...

First off... Vandy!!!!!!!!!!

What the hell just happen to us?!?

Second, Kentucky falls... Now these losses are starting to hurt.

Penn State just got shallacked by the Badgers for 26 points.

I'm currently watching Southern Illinois vs. Butler, another excellent down to the wire game.

Ok, I'm out... Sorry, I'll remember to bring my power cord next weekend.

Live from Rosemead

I'm currently watching G'Town/Villanova. This is an awesome game (currently 51 - 52 to the Wildcats).

Now 54 to 55 Villanova with 25 seconds... G'Town just took the lead 56 to 55 with 19 second! They just won't die!

This is coming down to the wire... They've done it!!! G'Town has ended the Wildcats domination of them! 58 to 55, Big East style!

Ok, I found the worst game ever played.

Buffalo vs. Ball State on February 7th.

Poor Buffalo. They was robbed!

Looking forward to Memphis vs. Gonzaga. Even though I think the Zags are walking into a buzz saw.

Friday, February 16, 2007

Money trumps peace, sometimes...

Arizona's Chase Budinger...

The Greek God, Pan...

You make the call.

Quotes of the day:
"I think they're better than No. 10 [AP]" - Washington's Jon Brockman
"Washington State is a well oiled machine" - Washington's coach Lorenzo Romar
"Memphis at Gonzaga. This one has lost some of its luster since Mushroom Mania" - The Bracket Board

Groovy, man....

Thursday, February 15, 2007

What to say...

First

Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. Glen "Big Baby" Davis must be kicking himself right now. A string of 6 losses and some vicious games coming up (Mississippi State, AT Kentucky, Florida) can only spell one thing...

Welcome to the Not Invited Tournament.

Update: Davis is questionable with an injury. Or was that his 3p/2p shooting percentages.

Hey, he can still kick MY ass...

Second

Tonight USC vs. Arizona. Trojans better get that Tyson killer instinct in a hurry if they want to prove they are the Sonny Liston of the PAC-10.

Third

This cheerleader is about to get BITCH-SLAPPED.

And nearly does.

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

I saw that coming

Looking through today's games I saw one that made me wince.

The outcome for East Carolina when they faced Southern Miss...

42 East Carolina
80 Southern Miss

Tech(s) rule!

When I'm right, I'm right.

UNC / VA Tech was a barn burner last night... The Hookies are making everyone take notice.

THIS is how you dribble the ball against those hicks!

But, Texas Tech / Texas A&M was a buzzer beater barn burner!

Steady son, steady... After you finish recording this, you can go to bed.

Note: I don't think Kentucky's loss will hurt that bad.

This from NCAA Hoops Today (italics by me) -

"6pm, Duke at Boston College, ESPN. Go BC! Go Eagles! Prediction: BC flexes Duke, Paula, McRoberts and Chris Collins start crying on the bench, and the students storm the court as BC wins by 20."

So, not the only one who has noticed an awful lot of Duke sobbing these days.

And finally...

We're back on the bubble again!!! Go Aztecs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then we're going to Wyoming, then to New Mexico, then Utah! YYIIIIAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!

Oh yeah... It's Wednesday, so here is your official moment of Zen from the University of Kansas "school" calendar.

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

Ode to the Zags

Geez.

Remember when the buzz on Gonzaga was hotter than the buzz on Jenn Sterger? And no, no picture. I already did a Zen. I gave you a link.

Loses from Saint Mary's, Nevada, Virginia and now Santa Clara?! This before they hit a red HOT Memphis?

They better bring WINNING back before they try for sexy...

Update: Bulldog addenda. Funny visuals, man.

Could someone tell me who the hell Butler is playing?

VA Tech vs. UNC looks good tonight.

Honor the school, protest the students...

I've always had a soft spot for the University of Kentucky Cheerleaders (at the risk of my wife popping me one)...

But some of the students on the other hand, well...

Dude, just one more shot bra....

And now a bonus moment of Zen (unless I forget the normal Wednesday moment).

Thanks to the guys from EDSBS for pointing Chef Lawson out.

Monday, February 12, 2007

Less than a month to go

Before Selection Sunday, which should be a national holiday and event the size of at least the Pro Bowl (which I didn't watch).

Rumors of the "Tubster", Kentucky's Tubby Smith going pro. He doesn't have the school power of a Coach K, but I would be surprised if he did leave.

Wow, Wright State beat Butler?

A loss to Indiana and Illinois is back on bubble watch!

I'm gonna freakin' kill you guys!!!!

Maryland backhands Duke... That REALLY surprises me.

And can someone tell me why so many Duke players cry?! Check out the 4th guy from the right.

Where do we go, where do we go now...

Bulldogs on drugs... My how far Gonzaga has fallen. They better get it together soon, or else on Saturday Memphis is gonna hurt them.

Game of the day
Georgetown vs. West Virginia. Another chance for Hoyas to show the world they mean biz-ness!

Ok, Kevin Durant vs. Greg Oden. To me this is silly. Greg Oden is the best player because he is huge and dominates in the paint. Durant is on a hot streak shooting wise and it will COOL down soon (maybe March, eh?). Do you want to spend your top pick NBA on a streak?

Actually, I don't care about the NBA. No, I don't hide my loathing of them.

I know... I'm not blind.

Down in a hole

I'm back!

Managed to see the highlights of last weekend on ESPN. UCLA lost against West Virginia... I'm wondering why everyone is making a big deal about it.

Be back later to do a more formal update.

Friday, February 9, 2007

But!

I do have the perfect theme song for the Florida/Kentucky collision... ESPN, ya gotta use it!!!

There must be some kind of way out of here...

Friday before SD

Games to watch

Marquette vs. Georgetown - A win here will prove that G'Town is in the house!

Illinois vs. Indiana - More important for Illinois than the Hoosiers.

Not really interested in Florida vs. Kentucky because no matter who wins, it will not make an earth shattering change in the rankings/seeding.

You know, Dickie V is fucking more annoying this year than others...

Alcohol... It makes everything right again.

Thursday, February 8, 2007

Cookin' like a mad man!

But in between my culinary exploits I managed to watch some b-ball.

How heartbreaking was that loss by Duke. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for them which I usually never do. UNC to me wasn't tons better than the Blue Devils, Duke just ran out of gas with 5 minutes remaining in the game.

Josh, it will be ok man... Dude, don't cry on camera.

Tonight's woodshed beating brought to you by the Mike Tyson of 1988 -

Stanford at Washington State

Heaven help the trees

PWND!!!!!!

Yes, I do believe Georgetown will be a force in March. Look at them...

Best college basketball commercial EVER.

Breaking News (non-basketball related)
Anna Nicole Smith. Gone. That sucks, I liked her!

A special moment of Zen...

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

Did you feel that?

My games to watch tonight...

1) North Carolina vs. Duke - Naturally since to me it could go either way.
2) USC vs. UCLA - Watch it just for the possible upset by the Trojans!
3) Illinois vs. Northwestern - I agree with Cort from The Bracket Board, the Illini needs this bad.

Can you feel the excitement building?

And now, your moment of Zen.

It takes a man to admit when he's wrong

San Diego State - 62, #13 Air Force - 41.

Prince has left the building!

Boy oh boy, it has never felt so good to be so wrong! SDSU put a whoopin' on the Zoomies!

SDSU's Abukar (#34) - "Bow your head!"

Enjoy, lads...

Republican land is on fire today...

P.S. I was right about the other two games.

Tuesday, February 6, 2007

Blowout alley!

This looks like an exciting day of hoops...

1) Michigan at Ohio State. Greg Oden shows Mas Chingón the full power of a grown man.

2) LSU at Tennessee. The Tigers are on the floor, battered and bruised. The Vols will win with home court advantage and their crazy coach.

Yes, that crazy coach...

3) Air Force at San Diego State. Call me Judas. Call me Benedict Arnold. Call me a Contrarian (since it seems like every handicapper is picking SDSU). Air Force will show the Aztecs what it sounds like when doves cry.

They'll feel the heat...

The players in that Wyoming/New Mexico State fight had their suspension extended. Good job by the Conference.

Speaking Prince and all things San Diego, I will be down there this weekend, just for a weekend get-away. So I'll probably (depending if can drink my wife under the table or not) miss Saturday's games. But once again, I'll read up come Monday.

I was robbed by two men

Fuck, A&M just put the SMACKDOWN on Texas! You blow out an opponent AND get the triple digits?!

Now maybe they'll start to believe in Josh Carter the Great...

No, don't hurt yourself you stud! We have 7 more games before the tourney!!

In other news, UConn beat Syracuse! It will not matter for the Huskies, but hey, they got a win...

Monday, February 5, 2007

Is the taxi on its way?

Seriously, this was the only video I could find that accurately demonstrates how Cal is playing basketball these days...

Let me off, at the next corner...

All your base are belong to us

Let's join the blogasphere meme and talk about Duke forward Josh McRoberts' mom!

The one looking at her Black Berry like thing, not grandma...

I guess everyone in blog land thinks she's a MILF or something.

How the mighty have fallen

Picture of a program in decline...

Remember when UConn was a force?

Again. Florida State beats Duke.

J.J. knows what is about to go down

We play better than our football team!!!!

Geez, will they ever make it?

Duke gets beat at HOME by Florida State...

Florida State.

We knew it would happen but it is still amazing to see the wheels fall off.

I'm also too tipsy to append any audio or video clips.

Bye bye.

Sunday, February 4, 2007

Quick hits

UNC lost against NC State? That is crazy... And that's gonna hurt come Monday.

USC is looking like they are for real! I'm almost ready to predict a National Champion from the Pac-10 power conference...

Oregon State. The horror, the horror!

Oregon State - 35
UCLA - 82

*spank*

So I bought a copy of Jet Magazine because of the interview with Barack Obama. No, absolutely no political statement with this. I just thought to myself, should I show a picture of Mr. Obama looking dapper, or the Jet Beauty of the week.

Your moment of Zen...

Friday, February 2, 2007

Randoms

Just linking around reading the other blogs (so now they show up! *lol*).

LSU at Mississippi State. LSU has to get off the mat VERY soon.
- The Bracket Board

Understatement of the year!!!!

The national championship will in April be won by one of six teams: Florida, North Carolina, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, or UCLA.
- Yoco College Basketball

That's a bold statement. I have learned the hard way (mainly lost bets) that more times than not the National Champion will come from left field. That's why they call it March Madness.

Washington State at Arizona, FoxCollegeSports. If you haven't seen Washington State yet, take a look! This team is going to be painful and frustrating to beat in the NCAAs, especially if they have the lead! They will bust your brackets!
- NCAA Hoops Today

Agreed. That #18 ranking can be deceiving.

- ESPN.com

I like the picture, I just disagree about Final Four (Sweet Sixteen maybe).

And yes I heard about the Wyoming fight. I'm a bit of a purist and will not link to stuff like that most of the time (you can find it on You Tube). I hope those kids get suspended way past their game against #17 Air Force.

Saturday night's NOT alright for fighting guys. Don't turn this into the NBA.

It's raining MEN!

University of Cincinnati cheerleaders in the house! Unfortunately...

And yes, I'm still REELING from that Duke/Virginia game.

Happy Friday!

Thursday, February 1, 2007

Live from Rosemead

Blogging live and I am NOT watching UCLA/Oregon...

Right now Virginia has taken Duke to overtime 65 all.

I sense an early round exit by the Blue Devils come March.

Virginia has the ball with 17 seconds left in OT, 66 all. Fucking awesome shot by Virginia's Sean Singletary with 1 second left! Viginia 68, Duke 66!!!!!

Duke misses the last shot and Virginia wins this game. Wow, just wow.

I'm posting that shit now!

Are you kidding me?!?!

Another view...

Alright, the game I thought would be like Duke/Virginia is mercifully over...

Oregon 57 - UCLA 69
