Would you like a little sobbing with your lunch?
Central Missouri women's coach Dave Slifer requested that referees waive a technical foul in order for injured opposing player Cassie Hunt to score in her last game ever.
Five year old boy breaks down after realizing that he will never see Michigan State's seniors play in East Lansing again.
Seniors, man. We'll miss them. Especially in San Diego.

Jantel Lavender is not impressed

Ohio State 75 - IUPUI 64
Hello Buckeyes. Did you have a late night? Did you forget about your game against the Jaguars? Must have been something like that. How else can you explain being behind until the last 7 minutes of the game? How else can you explain letting IUPUI forward Alex Young run roughshod over your defense for nearly 20 minutes? How else can you explain needing your freshman Jared Sullinger to bail you out of a game when he should have been on the bench early in the second half relaxing?
Anyone? Bueller?

Don't tell Mrs. March to Madness
Believe it or not we are watching the women's Final Four Oklahoma / Stanford (with bottles of wine and other assorted booze). And we are actively engaged in it making comments to each other.
And it doesn't hurt that Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale is a freaking MILF!

Has there been anyone better
After UConn's female basketball team utterly and completely dismantled the Lady Blue Devils 81 to 48, and convincingly pulverizing the number two ranked team in the country 70 to 46 we were running out of superlatives to describe how amazing the Lady Huskies are. Duke coach Joanne McCallie said it's like playing a WNBA team. We think they would give the pros a run for their money.
But never fear! A gracious fan gave us the means to where we will never have to say anything about UConn again. When they play their next opponent we just need this to show what will happen:
Very very Sparta.

Change of plans
We know you have heard us say over and over again we are not fans of women's basketball. Their style of play is very foreign to us, not agressive at all. A lot of perimeter shooting and very little battles in the paint. But they're girls, why should we expect them to fight like men underneath the basket. Anywho, we are going to watch undefeated UConn and undefeated Notre Dame gals b-ball tonight. The battle for first place in women's NCAA college basketball. We have no predictions because this is new to us.
So join us. We are gonna rock out to Lady Gaga during halftime and enjoy the game!

Good luck, ladies. Awww, so cute!
And besides, we LOVE Notre Dame's head coach's name. Muffet McGraw. That just rocks the house.

Holy crap!
That's exactly what we said to ourselves when we read this. We're not big fans of women's b-ball but sometimes you just have to take notice. Especially when two of your star players beat the bejebus out of a little ol' cheerleader:
Amanda Hanneman and Jessra Johnson, the Tigers leading scorers, were arrested early Friday morning after Justin Short, a Missouri cheerleader, called police complaining there were people who would not leave his apartment. When police arrived, Short said he had been assaulted by the basketball players and he was taken to a hospital with a swollen nose and a cut on his eye.

Amanda Jessra

Justin
Missouri's coach Cindy Stein has indefinitely suspended Amanda and Jessra for late night brawling. Believe it or not Justin has been suspended too. Probably a PR move to minimize the embarrassment he's suffering.

P-I-G
President Barack Obama handed defending national champion UConn Lady Huskies their first defeat of the season.
Obama, a basketball player and a huge fan of the game, now takes teams outside to shoot hoops on the make-shift court he’s had constructed at his residence on Pennyslvania Avenue.
And home-court advantage, the all-conquering University of Connecticut women’s team discovered, means that Obama is tough to beat.

We didn't know

In the throws of our consternation about SDSU not being in March Madness (even though we really believe now that they shouldn't have been), we were unaware that our sistas are in it.
Go Lady Aztecs, beat Stanford!

Don't mess with UConn women's coach Geno Auriemma. You think those two ladies can hold him back?

It's gone
Tennessee women's coach Pat "raccoon wrestler" Summitt is beyond fed up and is now kicking ass, taking names and benching the prima donnas:
"I was trying to be patient," Summitt said. "I've lost my patience. It's gone. We've got some non-competitive people on this team and that's not going to get it. They're not going to play."
She's turned up the volume of her criticism and ordered more intense drills. On Monday, the team had to make 23 defensive stops against the practice squad -- one for each of its turnovers against the Tigers.
Summitt said she was also sick of watching the Lady Vols fall behind to opponents. Tennessee has trailed at least once in each of the past 11 games, including all of its SEC matches.
Now that's a woman on fire. If we watched lady hoops we could probably comment more on this.

Now that's sportsmanship
Greeley girls basketball team beats Boulder school 94-1
Frontier Academy, a charter school in west Greeley, led 48-0 at halftime against Boulder's Justice High School, which is designed to educate at-risk youth.
"I've had 100 points scored on me before, and I think it's important to respect the game and to respect your opponent," Frontier Academy head coach Nathan Buxman said this morning in a phone interview. "We show the most respect for our opponents by continuing to play hard."
Well, if that is the case coach Buxman, why didn't make it 200-1?
Buxman said his team never used any kind of a pressure defense and stayed in a man-to-man, half court defense. He rotated five girls into the game every four minutes once the score became lopsided.
But wait, you just said that you want to respect your opponent by playing hard. Now you are saying you let up because of the score?
Whatever, dude. You're a douche.

Vote for John McCain...
...because his daughter is a decent looking liberal?
Meghan McCain is a 23-year-old, socially liberal John Kerry voter who loves Superbad, Dita von Teese, Bud Light (see right hand), and campaign blogging.
Meghan won’t show me her bedroom—it’s too messy, she says. Besides, she’s starving, and she really wants to take me to lunch at one of her favorite restaurants ever, Garduño’s Margarita Factory.
Maybe after 5 margaritas she'll show you her bedroom, Mr. GQ Interviewer.

Next up, in the land of college basketball (for women), Oklahoma's Jenna Plumley was arrested for stealing makeup at the Wal-Mart.
She claims it has been tough spending so much money trying to make herself look better than her freakin' 43 year old coach!
