The leading scorer on the University of Charleston men's basketball team is facing a misdemeanor battery charge following an incident with a West Virginia State player outside a Charleston nightclub.

In a criminal complaint filed Thursday in Kanawha County Magistrate Court, Charleston police said UC senior Anthony Anderson punched West Virginia State senior Wade Pidock in the face during an argument around 2 a.m. on Jan. 4 outside the Boom Boom Room, a bar on Capitol Street.

How appropriate is the name of the bar and what happened outside? We love unintentional comedy. And we wonder if West Virginia State and University of Charleston are bitter rivals. If they weren't, they are now.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Two University of Oklahoma athletes stabbed at a nightclub during a brawl that reportedly involved guns, knives and tire irons were identified by police on Tuesday.

...freshman basketball guard Ray Willis sustained knife wounds during the Sunday morning altercation, officers said in a news release.

The fight erupted about 2:30 a.m. after a number of people tried unsuccessfully to crash a private party at the club and allegedly attacked invited guests after they were denied entry, police said.

Nice, but you know what's missing? Some hapless random chick getting hit by a fleeing car once the police looked like they were going to start tasing them, bro.

Nineteen-year-old Rachel Taylor, who was struck by a vehicle outside, was treated at a hospital and released.

Next, Kent State guard Chris Singletary likes to party and doesn't give a flip about being too loud.

...Chris Singletary was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with violating a noise ordinance after receiving a warning at his Olympus Drive apartment, according to a Kent police report.

On March 10, he was charged with nuisance party regulations. He also was arrested on April 7 on charges of driving under DUI suspension.

3 for the road...

First up, West Virginia's Bob Huggins has clause in his contract stating that he can be fired for being drunk. Especially driving drunk.

A West Virginia spokesman said that is a standard clause in employment contracts.

Yeah... Because we all know Huggins would never do something as crazy as driving while intoxicated.

Next up, South Carolina guard Devan Downey works out during the off-season by punching students in the face.

Downey, 20, was charged with hitting another student on April 25 shortly before noon, according to the warrant that was signed by the student, Curtis D. Lowery II.

The arrest stemmed from an incident last week between Downey and another student he knew, school spokesman Russ McKinney said.

Police were called to the scene, but neither Downey nor the other student wanted to press charges, McKinney said, and there was no incident report written up.

Finally, we got some FnDC (fighting in da club)! Binghamton University forward Miladin Kovacevic got his stupid self thrown in jail for opening a can of whoop ass on some poor bar patron.

A Binghamton University sophomore was arrested Sunday and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, after police said he repeatedly kicked someone in the head early Sunday morning in a downtown bar.

Miladin "Minja" Kovacevic, 20, was accused of causing serious head injuries to an unidentified person inside the Rathskeller night club on 92 State Street in Binghamton. The bar was open during the incident and police said there were witnesses.

I imagine serious head injuries can be done by a 6 foot 9, 260 pound Serbian. I wonder did the guy make fun of his name. Minja... Sounds like a female version of ninja.
