For the love of Pete, no...

ESPN’s premiere college basketball analyst, Dick Vitale, has signed a contract extension through the 2014-2015 season.

Sigh.

Kentucky girls love Vitale

We told you...

Happy holidays everyone.

We're halfway there...

Hit it, Natalie...

(San Diego State has) all five starters returning from a 25-9 squad that reached the NCAA Tournament as well as the addition of a well-regarded group of freshmen and transfers. Already, SDSU has been included in several preseason Top 25 rankings. The university’s media relations department is calling it "the most anticipated season in Aztec basketball history."
- Sign On San Diego

From mainstream pundits like Katz and Vitale to bloggers like Collegehoops, almost everyone has the Aztecs ranked as one of the top 25 teams in the country. Even stalwarts such as the Associated Press Content has SDSU ranked at least a tad bit outside the top 25.

With their first ever national network prime time TV game on February 26th, 2011 these are heady days for the Aztecs.

We here at M2M have a new lease on life and a new mantra; We will not take failure. Not this time. Fuck you, failure.

We will also have a new addition to the M2M family. That's right, baby M2M. He should be screaming his way from Mrs. M2M's insides around mid December. Just in time for... SDSU vs. Wichita State? Yikes. Sorry kid.

How many times have we said Dickie V is annoying?

Currently watching UConn/Georgetown and Dick Vitale just said:

"I think the best guard tandem in college basketball is Scheyer and Nolan Smith!"

Geee, we wonder why?

The NCAA in it's infinite wisdom...

Both Rich Brooks and Bob Knight thinks this is bullshit:

On another note our ears nearly bled listening to Dickie V during the Georgetown / Butler game.

This Bud's for you

We're currently watching the beatdown Syracuse is giving UNC and we just heard Dickie V. say the following:

That's traveling, man!
Even in the NBA that's traveling!

Dick Vitale has his moment of lucidity.

Oh yeah. Syracuse? This Is Sparta!!!! You get the other weekly award.

The time is now

Tonight on ESPN the NCAA Basketball and NBA announcers will switch places. That's right, Jeff Van Gundy, Mark Jackson and Mike Tirico will call the Blue Devils / Wildcats game, and then after that Dick Vitale and Dan Shulman will call the stupid Denver Nuggets / Miami Heat game.

This is so cool on so many levels:

1) It will be fun to listen to Jeff, Mark and Mike as they experience the pure, refreshing excitement that is college hoops. They might even say on the air "What have we been doing with our lives? This is where its at!"

2) Those who prefer all dunks and no offensive or defensive strategy (translation: NBA fans) will be subjected to the raw, powerful annoyance that is Dickie V. Good luck with that. You deserve it in a way.

Correction. No one really deserves Dickie V. But it will be nice for us to have the night off from him.

Dickie V. annoys co-worker

Just look at this video (once again crappy video exclusively brought to you by March to Madness). Just look at Dan Shulman's eyes as Dickie V. drones on and on, making stupid asinine references one after another. I counted 3 eye rolls. Can you detect the "shut the fuck up" look?

I knew you could.

All quiet on the blogosphere front

Apologies again, work and blogpolling had me tied up...

Please, untie me before they come back. These are some very bad men...

Let's do this -

Proof that Red Bull and vodka will fuck your shit up mentally! Monmouth College basketball player arrested for breakin' and enterin' after all night bender:

(Jesse) Haskett, who admitted to officers he had been drinking Red Bull and Vodka at a local bar, was arrested for criminal trespass to a residence, criminal damage to property and public intoxication.

I wonder what would have happened if Jesse was on that purple drank. Sip!

Did you know that Bobby Knight resigned? You do? Ok.

Guess who's back just in time for the Duke/UNC game. Hip hip hooray. *grumble*

Hate to end on a sad note, but Ohio University-Chillicothe player Jonathan Mason-Davis dies after collapsing during a practice.

Our condolences for the family. RIP.

So long and thanks for all the fish

Arizona's Lute Olson says "Adios, motherfuckers!" to the Wildcats for all of 2007 - 2008...

"I plan to return to coach the University of Arizona next year," (Olson) said. "In the meantime, my heart will be with the team, the coaches and the staff."

No snarky comment, just wondering what the hell is going on?

UPDATE: Lute Olson took a freaking year off from coaching because he is getting a divorce?!?!?!

"There are personal issues within my family that need to be addressed and I must devote my full energy to that," Olson said in the statement.

What the hell is she doing, taking Lute for everything he's got?

In April 2003, Olson married Christine Jack Toretti - a prominent, politically active Pennsylvania businesswoman who is 22 years his junior.

Well, maybe so.... Nothing says love like HALF!!!

(Major HT: Storming The Floor)

Dickie V. can now see into the future...

My preseason choices to make it to San Antonio — site of the Final Four — are Roy Williams' North Carolina Tar Heels, high-flying Memphis, deep and talented Louisville and defensively tough UCLA.

Babeeeeeeeee! And pass the Hooters wings! They're awesome!

Welp, you can now cross out all of those teams from making it to the Sweet 16. We should now start knocking them out of the blogpoll, just for spite. The real funny part is that he picks Louisville, then proceeds to bash the crap out of them.

...This guy (Derrick Caracter) is going to be a superstar or a bust... The only thing that could stop this team is injuries... Juan Palacios is out for four to six weeks.

Oh, he also picks UNC to win it all, so obviously they won't. Sorry Tar Heels fans.

You can file this under the gift that keeps on giving. Greg Oden may cause Ohio State to lose scholarships.

Oden was one of three Buckeyes to leave for the NBA after their freshman seasons, along with Mike Conley Jr. and Daequan Cook, but only Oden withdrew from school after starting spring quarter.

...questions remain over his academic status when he left school.

Translation: He dropped out without completing a single quarter credit to get that big money. Further translation: He wasn't a full time student.

Thanks asshole.

Sincerely,
Thad Matta and tOSU Basketball Team

Finally, did you know that the NCAA has a mascot for men's basketball? Mr. J.J. Jumper.

Seriously!

Happy Friday everyone.

Please spare my life

UNC 86, Kentucky 77.

During the game Dickie V. just said 4 times in a row "I wanted to see Ashley, where is Ashley?"

Calm down fucking old man horn dog!

It was amazing how Kentucky was surging before the half and was so close at halftime only to...

Well, they just... You know, this video will explain what happened to the Wildcats better than I can...

Happy Saturday everyone.

The wise one speaks

Dickie V gives us some sage advice on how to win the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship...

"To win an national championship, you better be able to play on the defensive side of the floor.

If you want to win a national title... get your players to buy into playing defense as a team."

Words of wisdom, that stuff is GOLD! Coaches need to make note of this!
