Today's lesson
The Princeton Offense.
Run very well a year or so ago by Air Force. It is simplistic in how it confounds the opposing defense. Forces you to learn the notion of teamwork (fuck you, NBA).
And now, legendary Princeton Coach Pete Carril.
Be-a-u-ti-ful.

Trying to be like Michael Ruhlman
Had an idea to make a crab omelette...
The culprits (crab meat, cheese, chopped chilies, tomatoes, eggs, S&P)
The somewhat messy result
If I had it to do over again I would have made a spice mix for the crab meat.
Don't worry folks, come December we will be all about college basketball.

Beware, another political post...
Hey it's the off-season of college basketball. Still. Sigh.
More idol worship. Everyone knows how I feel about German Prime Minister Angela Dorothea Merkel (swoon)...
And former National Economic Council Chairwoman under President Clinton, Dr. Laura D'Andrea Tyson (double swoon)...
So now I would like to introduce Ruth Maria Kelly, Secretary of State for Transportation under British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Bio -
She went to The Queen's College, Oxford where she studied Politics and Economics, graduating in 1989, and then to the London School of Economics gaining a Master of Science in Economics in 1992.
Kelly is a practicing Roman Catholic, and a member of Opus Dei (yay!).
This of course makes me think "Where are African-Americans like this?" And I think this quote sums it up and also shows that society needs to change...
"People assume that even though I’m in the economics department, and the questions I ask are economics questions, that I’m a political scientist or sociologist or an administrator. I think it’s because there are so few Black female economists, and the ones they might have known aren’t doing research anymore. It probably takes people a while to get accustomed to seeing blacks and women teaching these courses or doing this kind of research."

Basketball has always been the bizarro world of football
So I've been hearing about how the SEC is the most powerful football conference and how the PAC-10 doesn't even touch it outside of USC.
Have you thought about that in terms of basketball? It's really interesting.
IMO the PAC-10 has the following elite team(s) -
UCLA
Followed by these powerful teams -
Arizona
Arizona State
Cal
Washington
And it is arguable that USC could go here, but I would want to give them another year.
Now compare that to the SEC with the following elite team(s) -
Florida (hey you have to give it to them, back-to-back)
And the following powerful teams -
Kentucky
Tennessee
I can give 10 reasons EACH why any other SEC team does not belong on this list.
Agree I do!
